SKMS does not open for student use until 7:45 a.m. daily. Students are not to arrive at or enter school prior to 7:45 a.m. when supervision will be provided for them.

The official school day will begin promptly at 8:05 a.m. and any student arriving after this time will be considered tardy. Students who accumulate 4 or more unexcused tardy marks will be subject to disciplinary procedures.

The following reasons for absences are valid and excused: illness, serious illness or death in the immediate family, emergency medical or dental attention, and absences with prior approval by school officials. For absences to be excused a parent or legal guardian must call the school to notify the attendance clerk of the absence. If the parent/guardian is unable to call he/she must send a note to school with the student upon the student's return. Notes are to be turned in to the student's homeroom teacher. Failure to notify the school of a student absence will result in the absence(s) being classified as unexcused.

Please make sure you are aware of the new After School Attendance Program and attendance policies. Information has been sent from the School Board Office and Signal Knob.
