Important FFA Updates!!!!!
Our FFA chapter awards banquet is quickly approaching. Please make sure that Thursday, April 26th is on your calendar! Attached to this email you will find several things. Please take time to read the descriptions below.

***The forms below are available on the bulletin board outside of my classroom.

***We have several sponsors for awards! We typically have issues with members taking time to complete applications. Therefore, I ask you to please encourage your child to take time to complete the applications that apply to them! These are all due by April 2nd!!

Banquet invitation - This provides details of what will take place at our FFA banquet. Please return the bottom portion with payment by April 13th!

Discovery FFA Degree - This is for all first year FFA members OR members who did not earn thier Discovery FFA Degree in the past.
*We will also give star degree awards, so it is important that all activities that the member has participated in are written on the application.

Greenhand FFA Degree- This is for all second or third year members who have already received their Discovery FFA Degrees. We have FFA manuals that members can borrow to answer questions, if needed. They can also look them up online.
*We will also give star degree awards, so it is important that all activities that the member has participated in are written on the application.

*There are participation charts in my classrooms that students can refer to if they have forgotten what they have done so far this year.

All other applications are what we call "proficiency award" applications (10 areas) and are only for 7th and 8th grade FFA members in Agriscience. This is where students write down what they done in a variety of areas that they have in their SAE record books that we have done in class. Please, please, please encourage your child to look at their record books and write down everything they can think of in these areas. Hours started July 1, 2017. Students have been given details about these applications.

*All applications and the banquet invitation are on my bulletin board outside of the ag. classroom. It is important for students to be responsible and get these as soon as possible. All sixth grade FFA members have received the Discovery FFA Degree application on a blue piece of paper. All other members have been given time to get these during Agriscience.

*FFA Camp and Convention information packets will be handed out in the near future. We will have an interest meeting on Thursday, March 22nd to review all information. The permission form is below. Please encourage your child to participate in these amazing opportunities!
Please do not wait until the last minute to get sponsors, if needed. Please have students come see me if they still need a sample letter.
